We're thrilled to be partnering with Hehlden Farm for a third year in a row to bring you the very best turkeys we could find in Michigan. This 5th generation family farm shares our values around all-natural and planet-friendly grazing practices. Their turkeys are raised on green pasture and fed non-GMO grains they grown on the farm.
Their black heritage breed turkeys stand out above the rest. They are more rich in flavor, silky in texture, and have a more favorable dark-to-light-meat ratio than store-bought birds. Our customers have raved every year about the taste of this turkey.
Price: Pay your $50 deposit (per turkey) to reserve your birds today. On Nov 23rd, you can pay the remainder in-person at your pick-up location based on the exact weight of your turkey. ($7.50 / lb)
What's included: Your heritage breed turkey, harvesting and processing costs, transport from the farm to your designated pick-up location.
Turkey sizes: As with any small-batch operation, exact sizes will not always be possible to match, but if you have a general size preference we will do our best to match you with a bird that suits your needs. We have 3 different deposit sizes: Small (11-13 lbs)... Medium (14-16 lbs)... and Large (17-19 lbs). If you have no size preference, you pay select any deposit size (all are $50) and comment no preference at check-out.
What's next: Our birds will be harvested fresh when we go pick them up in Northern Michigan. We'll bring them directly down to our pick-up locations on Sunday, November 23rd. This gives you plenty of time to brine or prep before Thanksgiving. Turkeys will come shrink wrapped and will be fine in the fridge until then.
We'll email you updates as needed and can work with you if our pick-up locations won't work for you. We don't have much capacity for deliveries, but we can offer delivery options for 4+ turkeys being delivered to the same address or meeting location.
