Spareribs are one of the most flavorful cuts of pork and one of the most fun to eat. Pork spareribs are the lower half of the rib bones which rest on the inside of the pork belly. The cut consists of bones surrounded by highly marbled meat and connective tissue. The ribs can be cooked as a whole slab or cut into individual pieces.

Spareribs are best prepared low and slow, ideally with some liquid to give the meat time to become nice and tender. The ribs are perfect when the meat just about falls off the bone. They are great when baked in the oven with your favorite sauce or cooked over indirect heat on the grill. Spareribs can also be cooked in the smoker or even in an InstantPot or slow cooker.
